vGI Holdings supports its people in their development by enabling employees to boost or re-align into a new career path through education and external training programs. We have sponsored degrees, diplomas and many other courses and training programs for our staff. The staff survey underpins this with team members being motivated by career progression and personal development.
We are always striving to improve our employee induction programs and their journey with us. We have developed thorough on-boarding and training schedules, improving our working environments and employee packages. This program is soon to be supported by induction videos to include visual representations, subtitles and the possibility of multi-language translations. We believe the start of the journey is most important in providing our staff the tools and confidence to perform to the best of their ability.
We have recently become heavily involved in providing apprenticeship schemes to new and existing employees, allowing them to gain skills and knowledge while working. We have placed apprentices in Customer Service, Management, Administration, Industrial Sewing, Lean Manufacturing and Engineering. Our first university sandwich year placements will begin in 2022 to help support students in gaining experience alongside their degree.
The Middleton Manufacturing Sewing Academy has benefited from investment in creating a classroom dedicated to teaching new machinists. Our staff, new and existing, receive thorough training with one-on-one training before being introduced to the production floor with the confidence and skill to carry out their work to our exacting standards and efficiencies.
The open-door policy at vGI Holdings welcomes any suggestions and concerns from employees, thus allowing our teams to feel comfortable in discussing any issues and will alert executives to concerns within the workforce.
